Operational Research

The Operational Research group of the PPGEPS-So has an established breadth and depth expertise in Operational Research, spanning logistics and production planning problems frequently encountered in real-world contexts. Our research involves contextualizing the problems, formulating the corresponding optimization models using linear, mixed-integer, stochastic, and/or robust optimization methods, and developing suitable solution approaches to provide good-quality solutions for practical instances. Over the past years, the group has been applying the theoretical results in diverse settings, such as reverse and humanitarian logistics, transportation and distribution problems in direct logistics, production planning in beverage companies, and well as in other supply chain management problems.
