Prof. Deisemara Ferreira

Her main research interests are optimization model for production planning problems and logistics. She has been working with lot sizing and scheduling problems over the past years, attempting to propose new mixed-integer linear optimization models to realistically describe practical production planning settings. Due to the complexity of such models, part of this research line focuses on developing solution methods to provide good-quality solutions. The integration of production planning and distribution problems within a supply chain scope is also part of her academic research. More recently, she has collaborated on the investigation of some logistics problems under uncertainty that arises in disaster relief situations. Basically, the aim of this branch of research is to propose new efficient models and mathematical-based heuristics to solve real-life instances based on Brazilian disasters.
