Curricular Structure
The Graduate Program in Production Engineering (PPGEP-So) at the Sorocaba campus of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) offers Master's and Doctoral degrees in Production Engineering, with a concentration in Sustainable Production Management. The program includes two research lines: Production Systems Management and Sustainable Production.
The completion of the academic Master's program of the Graduate Program in Production Engineering at the Sorocaba campus of UFSCar (PPGEP-So) requires the fulfillment of 38 course credits, approval in the Qualification Exam and in the English Language Proficiency Exam, and the acquisition of an additional 62 credits upon approval of the Master's Thesis defense.
The completion of the academic Doctoral program of the Graduate Program in Production Engineering at the Sorocaba campus of UFSCar (PPGEP-So) requires the fulfillment of 60 course credits, approval in the Qualification Exam and in the English Language Proficiency Exam, and the acquisition of 140 credits upon approval of the Doctoral Dissertation defense.
The program offers mandatory courses for all students and elective courses, which are provided based on the program's needs and the availability of faculty.
Student performance in each course is assessed based on criteria established by the course instructor, expressed using the following evaluation levels:
A – Excellent, earning course credits.
B – Good, earning course credits.
C – Regular, earning course credits.
D – Insufficient, no course credits earned.
E – Failed, no course credits earned.
I – Incomplete, assigned to students who, for justified reasons, fail to complete part of the required assignments, reports, or exams. This grade must be converted to another level (A, B, C, D, or E) once the work is completed, within a maximum of two-thirds of the following semester, as specified in the program's activity calendar.
Students who receive a grade below C in any course or academic activity will be considered failed.
